The goal of the Small Towns, Big Solutions network is to provide practical strategies to aid in revitalizing any Downtown...

When I first started working as a Main Street Manager in a small town in Rural Kentucky it was a very difficult time filled with complex problems and conflicting information. The programs and organizations that were available to us seemed very abstract and political, not at all focused on real-world results.

Over the years, through the experience of the Downtown I served and the example of other brilliant placemakers we began to put together a series of battle-tested strategies to help transform our community.

Over the course of 5 years our small community experienced unprecedented economic growth. Our building vacancy rate went from 40% to 5% and over 20 new businesses located in our Downtown. The methods that led to that economic growth are all laid out in our Members Area along with a network of other like-minded professionals to share with and learn from.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT ANDREW, THE FOUNDER?

"...if anyone has ever more successfully demonstrated Whyte’s idea that small elements can have a “large multiplier effect,” I’d like to meet them."

" A skilled entrepreneur and seasoned placemaker, Andy had been a longtime fan of both PPS and the work of Holly Whyte... if anyone has ever more successfully demonstrated Whyte’s idea that small elements can have a “large multiplier effect,” I’d like to meet them.
